As I was tucking in my little one to bed one evening, we were talking about what "we could be when we grew up". She told me I was good at gardening. We already gardened as a family, but I wanted more. Soon after, I registered for the Greater Cincinnati Master Rain Gardener program and received my Master Rain Gardener certificate in 2022. In 2023, I went on to take the Northern Kentucky Master Gardener Program. I completed my volunteer hours and became certified in June 2024. I also authored "Grandpa's Bean", (page 6), an article in the July/August 2023 Campbell County Horticulture Newsletter. In 2023, I completed the Pollinator Steward Certification Program. Of course, I can't leave out the many years and tradition of providing "Grandma's Zinnia's" for the Sts. Peter and Paul Annual Picnic, at least three generations of the same zinnia seed provided to put the final touch on the the country experience. 

 

Through all this, my love of flowers and the benefits they provide - for humans and insects - were enhanced. I installed a rain garden and a pollinator garden at our home and was excited to install a pollinator garden at my daughter's school. The gardens were full of native perennials and grasses.

I have always had a love for flowers and grew up watching my grandparents and parents garden. I'm excited to pass on my knowledge to my daughters and my new flower followers.  

 

At Homegrown on Haubner Hill, I am passionate about providing my customers with the freshest and most beautiful flowers that nature has to offer. I have a full-time corporate job and I dedicate my free time to growing flowers that will brighten up any occasion. The flowers are grown sustainably with love and care and can be hand-picked just for you or picked by you at one of our on farm events.
